A vigorous drive against criminals has been initiated reducing the scale of crimes in Sialkot district said District Police Officer (DPO), Zubair Nawaz Chattha.
Addressing the members of Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) here on Tuesday afternoon he said the step had been taken for overcoming the deteriorated law and order situation in the district. Under the drive special attention would be accorded on apprehending absconders, criminals and proclaimed offenders in the district he said.
Zubair Chattha vowed to curb the incidents of ransom activities by pulling the strings of such notorious element involved in this practice. The DPO said that Sialkot Police would fulfil its responsibilities in maintaining law and order and for ensuring the protection of the life and property of the citizen on top priority basis.
Sialkot police had been tracked on right direction for restoring the confidence of people on Police as well as for defusing the feelings of chaos and insecurity in the district, he said. The DPO said that Police was committed with profession and rendering highly laudable services for protecting the life and property of innocent citizen.
About the traffic problems of the city the DPO said that a large number of unregistered vehicles including rickshaws, motorcars, motorcycles and pick ups were plying in the area. He said that the holders of unregistered had been directed to register their vehicles before September 7th and after that a vigorous drive would be launched and all such vehicles would be impounded.
In his address of welcome, the President SCCI, Dr Nouman Idris Butt suggested that owners of "Rent a Car and Motorcycles" should be asked to print the words of rent a car and rent a motorcycle of the vehicles visibly and under age and unlicensed persons should be given the cars and motorcycles on rental basis.
He said that most of the criminals used rent a car or rent a motorcycles in different crimes and owners of running this business should be asked to maintain complete record of movement of vehicles. The President SCCI assured that business community of Sialkot would extend its full co-operation to the Police for elimination of crimes.
