In the run-up of Instyle Pakistan 2006, the Federal Minister for Textile Industry, Mushtaq Ali Cheema has extended invitations to leading international buyers to attend the exhibition as VIP guests of the Government of Pakistan.
Instyle Pakistan 2006, the 3rd International Textile and Garments Exhibition is scheduled to be held on September 21 to 23, at the Karachi Expo Centre.
The notable buyers, who have been invited by the Ministry include El Corte Ingles, Kenneth Cole, Laura Ashley, Carrefour, Auchan International, John Lewis Partnership, JC Penny, Sainsbury's, Kaufh of Warenhaus AG, Galeries Lafayette, Target Corporation and Zara Home. Those who have already confirmed their participation include retail chains from the US and Europe like Mothercare, NEXT and Fruit of the Loom.
So far this year, Pakistan's textile and garment industry has contributed 62 percent of the country's exports, 46 percent of the total manufacturing, 11 percent of the GDP, 30 percent of industrial value addition, 38 percent of total employment and 32 percent of the total investment in the country.
Instyle Pakistan 2006 was being supported by the Ministry of Textile Industry, Board of Investment, Pakistan Textile Exporters Association, Pakistan Readymade Garment Manufacturers & Exporters Association, Pakistan Hosiery Manufacturers Association, Pakistan Cloth Merchants' Association, Pakistan Knitwear & Sweater Exporters Association, Pakistan Textile Exporters Association and All-Pakistan Bed Sheet & Upholstery Manufacturers Association.-PR
