Sindh Minister for Labour, Transport and Industry, Adil Siddiqui visited Landhi and Korangi Industrial Areas on Monday evening to take stock of the situation that had developed during the rains.
Secretary, Nasar Hayat, industrialist Shaikh Manzar Alam, Town Nazim, Muhammad Arif advocate and others were present. The minister during the visit to affected areas, directed the concerned authorities for draining out the accumulated rainwater and restoring smooth flow of traffic.
Shaikh Mazar Alam told the minister that owing to ongoing development works, the industrial activities were severely affected during the rains. Due to craters on the roads, the heavy containers could not enter into industrial area and the daily operation/loading and unloading of 250 to 300 containers were stopped.
Minister directed the authorities for repair of roads in a shortest possible time.
Later, the minister held meeting in his office and directed the MAD, Site and other officials to visit the affected areas and prepare a plan for repair of roads in a way that such a situation does not emerge in future.
