The Central Board of Revenue (CBR) has extended the last date to September 10, 2006 for the employees of income tax commissionerates and collectorates, who are desirous of applying for the double pay package at the Regional Tax Offices (RTOs).
Sources told Business Recorder on Thursday that the date has been extended to facilitate the lower staff (grade 1-16), applying for the specialised positions at the RTOs. This extension would give ample time to the officials to prepare for the test and the interviews for the specialised positions under the Internal Job Posting (IJP).
The sources said that every CBR employee, who clears the IJP test, would be entitled to double pay package as per laid down rules and regulations. In case anyone fails to meet the prescribed criteria, he would also be accommodated for which a comprehensive strategy is being worked out.
On the issue of IJP for the Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation, Customs and Excise, the sources said that a delegation of the directorate comprising a director and a deputy director met the CBR senior officials to discuss the IJP process for the directorate officials and staff.
The directorate representatives have agreed with the viewpoint of the board and officials of both the sides would mutually workout the procedure to ensure early IJP so that the maximum officers of the directorate could get double pay package.
The directorates of training have already advertised the Internal Job Posting (IJP) for their staff in grade 1-16, the sources maintained.
Meanwhile, spokesman of the All Pakistan Income Tax Staff Welfare Organisation has demanded of the CBR to extend the date for applying for the IJP process, as the last date of August 25 is not enough for the commissionerates to prepare for the test and interviews.
The spokesman claimed that the board is demanding an undertaking from each staff member, applying for the double pay package, that he would not challenge the final decision of the IJP in any court of law.
