Chief of Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal Qazi Hussain Ahmad has said that the government is trying to divert public attention from the accusations in the charge-sheet. He said that the no-trust motion would shake the conscience of the treasury benches and they might support it.
Talking to a private TV channel, Qazi said that secret ballot on voting day was not necessary, however, he said that they demand secret ballot. To a question, he said "no one is secular and no party in Pakistan is secular party as Pakistan is an ideological state and all the people are loyal to its ideology."
The MMA chief said that the alliance had launched a movement and held a public rally on August 14 against the government. Similarly, on August 20 the opposition held a rally in Peshawar and on August 27 they would hold a public gathering in Karachi. Then another gathering would be held in Rawalpindi on September 6. He said that the corner meetings and conventions were being held on daily basis. The government of Pervez Musharraf was a military dictatorship and against the constitution and he must reign, he demanded.
