Traffic police has launched a special campaign to curb the menace of pressure horns and till date 1,653 pressure horns have been removed from vehicles.
This was stated by Deputy Inspector General of Traffic Police Punjab in his reply to a legal notice to a member Lahore High Court Bar Association M D Tahir here on Thursday.
DIG in his reply contended that the campaign was launched on August 7, which would continue till August 31, 2006. He said that 1,919 drivers have been challaned for using pressure horns and fine amounting to Rs 392,700 have been recovered from the violators. During the last campaign 16,015 pressure horns were removed from the vehicles, he added.
