The Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) on Saturday finalised arrangements for holding its grand public gathering at Nishtar Park, in connection with its country-wide protest against poverty, joblessness, secularism, amendments to Hudood Ordinance, showing solidarity with the peoples of Lebanese and Palestinian and uprooting dictatorship from the country.
The rally would start on August 27 at 4:00 pm, for which, door to door invitations were extended to Karachiites. Karachi MMA leadership, in this context, distributed hundreds of thousands handbills among masses and decorated MA Jinnah Road and Nishtar Park area.
Top leadership of MMA, ARD and their allied parties would address the gathering.
MMA President and Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) Amir Qazi Hussain Ahmed, Opposition leader in the National Assembly Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman, ARD Chairman Makhdoom Amin Fahim, PML-N leader Zafar Iqbal Jhagra, Jamiat Ulema Islam Pakistan (JUP) leader Allama Shah Ans Noorani, Professor Sajid Mir of Central Jammiat Ehl-e-Hadis, Allama Sajid Naqvi of Islami Tehrik-e-Pakistan, Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan, Asfand Yar Wali of Awami National Party, Abdul Rahim Nakshbandi and other leaders would address the gathering.
