Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz on Saturday said neither any law against the Holy Quran and Sunnah has been made in the country, nor any such law will ever be made.
"No one should even assume that we will allow a law that is against the injunctions of Islam. There should be no doubt about it," he told a large gathering of locals after inaugurating a Skill Development Centre for the earthquake-affected people, around 130-km north of Islamabad.
The prime minister said Pakistan being a fortress of Islam was playing a leading role in the Ummah on all major international issues, adding it will continue to do so. He said the leadership and people of Pakistan have firm belief in the sovereignty of Allah Almighty and would not he pressurised by any one else.
"Alhamdolillah, we are a nuclear and a missile power. We have the capability and strength to give a befitting reply to anyone that dares (to threaten) us," he declared as the crowd chanted Pakistan Zindabad.
The prime minister said Pakistan's creation followed enormous sacrifices and its integrity and sovereignty will be safeguarded at all costs. He said the nation has always risen to any challenges posed to it like the natural calamity of October 8 earthquake that killed over 73,000 people. The prime minister said the nation and the world responded to the tragedy, and vowed that the devastated areas would be rebuilt with modern facilities and communication infrastructure.
Shaukat Aziz said the skill development centre, like the one he inaugurated earlier, would help the people of the area get better jobs and supplement their income. The Centre will focus on developing skills of the locals in construction, furniture making, and tourism through three-month duration courses.
