Sindh Minister for Labour, Transport, Industry & Trade, Muhammad Adil Siddiqui met with Prime Minister, Shaukat Aziz during his visit to Islamabad. Adil Siddiqui briefed the Prime Minister about the performance of his departments and their ongoing development projects in a detailed meeting, an official handout said here on Monday.
The provincial minister informed the Prime Minister that owing to improved law & order and the sincere efforts of President Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister, there had been industrial stability and promotion to investment in the province.
He said that with the increase in establishment of new industrial units, shortage of land was felt at existing industrial zones and the industrialists and investors were demanding to provide further lands in order to set up more industries in areas such as Karachi, Hyderabad and Nooriabad.
Adil Siddiqui told that the Sindh government has planned long-term projects on the demands of industrialists that will promote both small and big industries.
Provincial Minister added that a couple of new small industrial estates were being developed over 100 acres each at super highway and Ghaghar Phatak under Sindh Small Industries Corporation.
Meanwhile the development works in the SITE super highway have been completed under SITE limited and the process of allotment had also been completed, he added requesting the Prime Minister to distribute the ownership documents of SITE Super Highway Phase II comprising of 1000 acres land, which Prime Minister accepted.
Prime Minister will soon give away the allotment documents to 161 industrialists during his visit to Karachi.
