Boys of Rawalpindi have topped the results of Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) Part-I and II of the Annual Examination 2006, of Rawalpindi Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (RBISE).
The results of the board were announced here on Monday at Divisional Public School. According to highlights of the results, distributed by the board in a ceremony, total 80444 candidates appeared in the examinations in both Part-I and II out of which 47052 were declared successful, maintaining 58.49 percentage.
In Part-I examination, 38241 candidates appeared, of those 19374 were declared successful. Percentage of successful candidates remained 50.66. On the other hand, 42203 students appeared in part -II examination, out of which 27678 were declared successful. The success ratio of part II examination remained 65.58 percent.
Overall top three positions were secured by boys as Ahsan Mehmood (Roll No 705954) of Cadet College Kallar Kahar topped the board examinations by getting 978 marks. Muhammad Hasnain Haider (702276) of Cadet College Hassanabdal got 971 marks and stood second while Muhammad Shahid Saeed Khan (702226) of Cadet College Hassanabadal clinched third position by getting 969 marks.
The above mentioned boys were also declared top position holders in Pre-Engineering (Boys) group.
IN PRE ENGINEERING (GIRLS) Javeria Khan (715699) and Faryal Ali (715712) of Government College for Women, Satellite Town Rawalpindi got first and second position by obtaining 910 and 907 marks respectively while Gul Fishan Sajid (703095) of District Public Girls Higher Secondary School, Chakwal got third position by getting 897 marks.
IN PRE-MEDICAL (BOYS) Hassan Zaid (702207) of Cadet College Hassanabdal secured first position, by getting 968 marks, Ghulam Kibriya (705302) of Government College Chakwal got second by securing 964 marks and Muhammad Hussain Saleem of Cadet College Hassanabdal took third position by obtaining 963 marks.
IN PRE-MEDICAL (GIRLS) Komal Zaman (703386) got first position by getting 943 marks, Uzma Batool (703390) clinched second position by getting 937 marks while third position was shared by Huma Khatoon and Shahzeen Shaukat by obtaining 924 marks each. The former three girls belong to Government College for Women, Chakwal while the later belongs to Kalar Kahar Science Higher Secondary School for Girls.
IN GENERAL SCIENCE (BOYS) Junaid Akhtar (718458) of Lawrence College of Ghora Gali shared 1st position with Ahmed Hussian (719711) of Government Gordon College Rawalpindi by securing 835 marks. Zohaib Iqbal (718459) of Lawrence College of Ghora Gali secured second position by obtaining 834, while Aftab Ahmed (708466) of Military College Jhelum clinched third position by getting 831 marks.
IN GENERAL SCIENCE (GIRLS) Naheed Begum of Government College for Women Satellite Town Rawalpindi got first position by obtaining 910 marks, Ambreen Bibi (715808) of the same college got second position with 882 marks while Maria Bashir (703099) of District Public Girls Higher Secondary School Chakwal got 876 marks and secured third position.
IN HUMANITIES (BOYS) Basharat Mehmood (708350) of Community Model Higher Secondary School, Jhelum got first position by obtaining 839 marks, Imran Haider (724762) of Chaphrri Bhoral Tehsil Jhand Attock secured second position by getting 829 marks while Muhammad Sanaullah of Jamia Haideria Fazal-ul-Aloom, Jalal Pur Sharif got third position by securing 828.
IN HUMANITARIAN GROUP (GIRLS) Mariyam Siddiqui (734644) of Rawalpindi got the first position by acquiring 870 marks. Shumalia Kausar (707995) of Government Girls Higher Secondary School Dina obtained 2nd position by getting 869 marks while Samina Ramzan (706512) of Community Model Girls Higher Secondary School Jhelum got third position by getting 862 marks.
IN COMMERCE GROUP (BOYS) Yasir Shahab (718611) secured first position by getting 935 marks. Muhammad Farman (719410) got second position with 930 marks and Noman Ahmed Abbasi (719394) got third place by getting 916 marks.
All the three boys were students of Punjab College of Information Technology Rawalpindi. Special children also appeared in the annual examination 2006 and got positions. Over all (Deaf and Dumb) position holders were Pakeeza Imtiaz ((146613), who got first position by getting 867 marks while Sarah Iftikhar (146617) remained at second place by securing 853 marks and Sadia Zafar (146620) got third position by obtaining 836 marks.
The all three girls were students of Sir Syed Special Education Academy Rawalpindi. Latter all the position holders were given away shields and gold medals. It may be recalled that examination for HSSC part I and II were held in April and May for which 165 examination centers were established in the jurisdictions of Rawalpindi Board.
