Girls outshined boys in the result of annual examination 2006, Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Multan, declared here on Monday. A boy Hafiz Muhammad Faisal Javed captured the top position by securing 1030 marks while all girls in six districts of Multan captured higher marks.
In this connection, a prize distribution ceremony was organised here in which Punjab Minister for Agriculture Arshad Khan Lodhi was the chief guest. The minister awarded prizes to the position holders.
While announcing the result and positions BISE Controller Examination, Professor Muhammad Asghar Chaudhry said total 45059 candidates had applied for admission to the examination and 43466 actually appeared while 28362 were declared passed with 65.25 percent result.
He said 4564 candidates appeared in Pre-medical group and 3543 were declared passed achieving the pass percentage of 77.63. In Pre-engineering 3386 candidates appeared, 2390 were declared passed with 70.58 percent result.
Similarly, 2915 candidates appeared in General Science group and 1771 were declared pass with 60.75percent result. Total 1630 candidates appeared in Commerce group and 1135 were declared passed with 69.63 percent result.
In Humanitarian group 30971 candidates appeared and 19523 were declared passed with 63.04 percent result.
However, the ratio of successful candidates remained high among the government schools as compared to private colleges, as 78.75 percent passed in Pre-medical group, 73.67 percent passed in Pre-engineering group, 64.36 percent passed in General Science group, 79.19 percent passed in Commerce group and 71.61 percent passed in Humanitarian group.

PRE-MEDICAL GROUP TOP POSITIONS AMONG BOYS: Roll No 2421 Muhammad Azhar Hussein s/o Muhammad Hussein of Burewala government college took first position with 993 marks. Roll No 2405 Hafiz Mahmood Ahmed s/o Rana Muhammad Asghar of Burewala Government College took second position with 991 marks. Roll No 2748-Arfat Shabir s/o Dr Ghulam Shabir Qaisrani of Multan government Bosan Road college got 3rd position with 990 marks.
PRE-MEDICAL GROUP TOP POSITIONS AMONG GIRLS: Roll No 612 Namra Naeem d/o Dr Muhammad Naeem Chaudhry clinched the first position with 1000 marks. Roll No 629 Sania Batool d/o Aqil Hussein Zaidi got 3rd position with 984 marks. Roll No 552 Amna Maqbool d/o Maqbool Ahmed captured 3rd position with 983 marks. Roll No 564 Ramla Ahmed d/o Iftikhar Ahmed also captured 3rd position with 983 marks.
PRE-ENGINEERING GROUP TOP POSITIONS AMONG BOYS: Roll No 7428 Zulqarnain Haider s/o Ashiq Hussein of Multan government Bosan Road College remained second with 993 marks. Roll No 6843 Ali Ehsan s/o Muhammad Ehsanul Haq of Sahiwal divisional public school and college secured 2nd position with 972 marks. Roll No 7434 Muhammad Omar Javaid of Multan Bosan Road College bagged 3rd position with 972 marks.

Roll No 6369 Hira Amna Salim d/o Muhammad Salim of Sahiwal divisional public girls higher secondary school secured 3rd position with 966 marks.
BOYS GENERAL SCIENCE GROUP: Roll No 12786 Muhammad Awais s/o Muhammad Ilyas of Multan government Bosan Road College got 1st position with 915 marks. Roll No 12782 Abdul Haseeb s/o Abdul Sattar of Multan government Bosan Road College took 2nd position with 900 marks. Roll No 12461 Hussain Tanzeel Syed s/o Syed Sajjad of Multan government Bosan Road College captured 2nd position with 877 marks.
GIRLS GENERAL SCIENCE GROUP: Roll No 11485 Naila Mubashir d/o Mubashir Ahmed bagged 1st position with 979 marks. Roll No 18589 Rahana Kausar d/o Javaid Akbar took 2nd position with 951 marks. Roll No 11442 Madiha Owais d/o Khawaja Muhammad Owais clinched 3rd position with 936 marks.
COMMERCE GROUP: Roll No 17489 Hafiz Muhammad Faisal Javed s/o Javaid Akbar of Mailsi got 1st position with 1030 marks. Roll No 18054 Muhammad Awais Masood s/o Masoodun Nabi Noor captured 2nd position with 933 marks. Roll No 17534 Faisal Nawaz s/o Muhammad Nawaz got 3rd position with 932 marks.
