The Musharraf government bases its legitimacy on the Supreme Court verdict, which gave him power to legislate. The irony is that the Supreme Court has in a recent judgement, quashed privatisation of PSM, citing gross irregularities.
Whatever the fate of no-confidence motion, this regime has lost its moral ground to govern. Given the track record about State-sponsored floor crossing and arm twisting by NAB, to secure the numbers game of treasury benches, the regime will definitely win on the floor of the house, when votes are cast on August 29.
