Minister for Information and Broadcasting Muhammad Ali Durrani on Friday said the government would provide every facility under the law for conducting DNA test of Akbar Bugti's body as desired by his family.
"The government had also offered the family of Akbar Bugti to participate in his funeral rites. We are ready to extend every possible co-operation under the law for conducting the DNA test of Bugti's body," said the minister while talking to reporters after a ceremony held to award certificates among the volunteers at the National Volunteer Movement (NVM) headquarters here.
Durrani regretted that certain politicians living abroad, after meetings with Indian leadership had issued statements on Balochistan situation.
"Such developments are not only unfortunate but also reflect the immature attitude of these politicians. The media statements by the Indian leadership also substantiate the apprehensions of involvement of a foreign hand in Balochistan situation," he said.He said the law and order situation in Balochistan and other parts of the country was improving despite the fact that some elements want to deteriorate it. The minister said the government would take all measures to foil such efforts.
"The government wants to take all the politicians along including the opposition and is also implementing the recommendations of the parliamentary committee on Balochistan to ensure delivery of rights to smaller provinces," he said.
To a question regarding the health of Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan, Durrani said that the relatives of Dr Khan had requested the government to make necessary arrangements for his operation at Aga Khan Hospital.
Responding to a question regarding government's pact with the tribal elders of Waziristan agency, the minister said the government had reached an agreement with the tribal elders (Jirga) to ensure elimination of terrorism in the region.
