Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has constituted seven benches of the Supreme Court (SC) for next week starting from September 11 for the hearing of hundreds of case at Islamabad Registry.
According to cause lists issued by the fixture department of the SC for next week, benches of the Apex Court comprising Chief Justice, Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar and Justice Syed Saeed Ashhad (Bench-I), Justice Rana Bhagwandas, Justice Nasir-ul-Mulk and Justice Syed Jamshed Ali (Bench-II), Justice Sardar Muhammad Raza Khan and Justice Falak Sher (Bench-III), Justice Khalil-ur-Rehman Ramday and Justice Muhammad Nawaz Abbasi (Bench-IV), Justice Faqir Muhammad Khokhar and Justice Tassaddaque Hussain Jillani (Bench-V), Justice Mian Shakirullah Jan and Justice Chaudhry Ijaz Ahmed (Bench-VI) and Justice Hamid Ali Mirza and Justice Karamat Nazir Bhindari (Bench-VII) will hear hundreds of cases of various nature including political and National Accountability Bureau (NAB) matters.
It may be mentioned here that Justice Hamid Ali Mirza and Justice Karamat Nazir Bhindari (Both the Ad-hoc judges who were also part of the Pakistan Steel Mills Privatisation case) will retire on September 14 after completing their one year tenure according to the notification.
A special opening ceremony of the court - new judicial year 2006-07 - will also be held on Monday in Court Room No 1 before commencing of the regular hearing of the cases.
