A delegation of Lahore Tax Bar Association (LTBA) met Rashid Malik, Commissioner, Securities & Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), at Company Registration office, Lahore. The Commissioner briefed the delegation about the efforts being made by SECP for healthy growth of corporate sector.
He particularly referred to the tremendous increase in the number of companies incorporated during the last two years. This trend of incorporation is more in Punjab than in other provinces.
He emphasised that the professional bodies should promote the concept of 'Single Member Company' introduced by Securities & Exchange Commission of Pakistan. It would benefit the entrepreneurs, who want to do business without the participation and association of any person, he said. He asked the business community to take advantage of the tax benefits granted by the government to 'small companies', through Finance Bill 2005-06.
