Chief Economist Planning and Development Balochistan government Mohi-Ud-Din Murree on Saturday said that six new cadet colleges would be opened soon in Balochistan. Talking to PTV, he said vocational training and polytechnic institutes would also be established and already established educational institutes would be strengthened.
He said, government is doing developmental work in Balochistan and huge amount of budget is allocated for this purpose. Gwadar sea port, marble city, new universities, coastal highway and different dams are mega projects and their completion would bring prosperity in the region, he added.
He said, Mirani dam in Turbat is nearing completion and would be inaugurated before December adding that Subakzai dam in Zhob is also under construction and would be completed by June 2007.
He said, projects for the electricity supply are also in consideration, adding that they are working on alternate energy also. Government is also working for the development of education in Balochistan and students with the co-operation of Higher Education Commission would be given scholarships, he added.
