Shipping activity was fairly brisk at Port Qasim where twenty-six ships called on and twenty-five ships sailed during last week. Berth occupancy remained 70 percent at during the week as against to 80 percent during the previous week. Utilisation level at the container terminal remained higher than other terminals.
A cargo volume of 0.515 million tonnes comprising 0.397 million tonnes imports and 0.118 million tonnes exports was handled during the week.
A total of 25 ships where 13 container ships, four edible oil vessels, three bulk cargo carrier, three oil tankers, one chemicals carrier and one LPG vessel sailed out to sea during the week.
