All the arrangements have been finalised for Inter-Provincial Games 2006 being held under the aegis of Punjab Olympic Association in collaboration with Government of the Punjab under floodlights here at Punjab Stadium from September 16 to 18.
These games were expected to prove a major initiative not only for the promotion of sports but also the provincial harmony, said Secretary Sports Punjab, Captain Naveed Akram Cheema (Retd) while addressing a press conference, here on Tuesday. Cheema maintained the Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi would inaugurate the games.
The events of athletics, badminton, baseball, karate, netball, basketball, bodybuilding, boxing, gymnastic, cycling, football, handball, taekwondo, vushu, hockey, judo, wrestling, kabaddi, lawn tennis, squash, swimming, table tennis, tug-of-war, volleyball etc, will be played. Women players of the provinces were also participating in the games.
