MIRPUR: The under construction 147 Mega Watt (MW) Patrind Hydro Power Project would start functioning in future.
In various public representative delegation Raja Nisar Ahmed Khan Minister for Electricity said that the project would help the power needs of AJK which required a total of 350 MW of the electricity.
He continued that since the AJK government has focused special attention to utilize all possible natural resources for enhancing the power generating capacity in the state.
He underlined that various under-construction hydel power projects in various parts of AJK will add more power to national grid solving the energy crises in Pakistan to greater extent.
He said that Government of Pakistan has principally agreed to provide due royalty of the AJK-based hydel power projects, water user's charges and other due levies to the AJK government against the projects operating in Azad Jammu Kashmir.
The minister said that the greater China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) will also benefit various parts of AJK including the capital city of Muzaffarabad, Mirpur and Bhimbher.
"Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif will soon give a good news to the people of AJK regarding the upcoming fruits of the CPEC", the minister added.
