The international aid agency - Oxfam International - feared on Wednesday that more than 1.8 million earthquake survivors would spend the second shivering winter in makeshift shelters.
The Oxfam International believes that makeshift shelters offer limited protection against the harsh cold and there was a dire need to ensure safety and health of quake-stricken people.
"At least 1.8 million people have not begun rebuilding their homes, most of them are in makeshift shelters that offer very limited protection against the coming cold. Urgent action is needed to ensure that communities are safe, warm and healthy this winter," Oxfam Country Director Farhana Faruqi Stocker told a news conference. She was flanked by Kate Simpson, team leader of advocacy media and communication unit Oxfam.
