The Lahore High Court (LHC) has ordered recounting of votes in NA-90 Jhang, the constituency of Saima Akhtar Bharwana on October 9, and also directed the election commissioner to produce complete record.
The court passed these orders in a petition filed by her rival candidate Sahibzada Nazir Sultan. The petitioner contended that the respondent returning officer and election commission had refused the request of recounting and announced Saima Akhtar Bharwana as a successful candidate. He therefore, prayed to the court to order recounting of votes in the constituency.
