Kenhill Private Limited has offered to invest 200 million euros in public transport, and said the company, in co-operation with Holland Bus Private Limited, was interested in plying 1,500 comfortable buses in Karachi during the next two years.
Company's Chief Executive Officer Mohammed Samiullah met City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal at his office on Thursday, and made the offer, saying, the company had a budget of 200 million euros for this purpose,
He said if tax incentive was given by the Federal government and proper routes allotted in Karachi, the company would bring 12,00 new buses on road in the next two years. Welcoming the offer, Mustafa Kamal said that all possible steps would be taken to bring transport culture in line with the international standard.
In future, he said that CNG buses would be introduced in Karachi and the city government was developing infrastructure suiting such buses. The CNG stations were being established and terminals being constructed so that investors might not face any problems, he added.
