The service period of all the contract employees of Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (KESC) has been extended by one year. Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Frank Schmidt's signed circular issued here on Friday said that the service period of all the contract employees slated to expire on November 30, 2006 has been extended up to November 30, 2007.
KESC's total number of employees sum up to 18,398, which included 8,500 contract employees. The circular addressed to the employees stated that following KESC privatisation since December 1, 2005, efforts were being made by the management to bring some improvements in the human resource spheres also.
