Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) said on Friday it would welcome all opposition parties, including Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA), six-party religious alliance, which desired to co-operate with it against the government.
Talking to newsmen Rana Mehmood-ul-Hassan, MNA said the opposition parties who wanted to co-operate with PML-N against the government, would be welcomed. He said that there was no truth in these speculations and rumours that PML-N leadership unanimously agreed that there was no need of an alliance of all opposition parties as the opposition was already struggling for common point against the government. However, they are ready to co-operate with opposition parties moving against the government.
Briefing about the meeting which held on Thursday under the chairmanship of Raja Zafarul-Haq, Rana Mehmood-ul-Hassan said that meeting expressed deep concern over law and order situation and Balochistan operation. Sources confided that participants of the meeting discussed the government's contacts with some opposition parties and decided to keep an eye on rapidly growing situation.
The PML-N decided to boycott all those opposition parties involved in 'secret deal' with the government. As per statement issued from the party office after the meeting, Raja Zafarul Haq while chairing the meeting, said his party would continue to struggle for the restoration of constitution and democracy in the country.
Ignoring the current circumstances, he categorically said PML-N would continue struggle with more intensity. He said Nawaz Sharif adopted a point of view seven years ago and his determination had become the voice of all opposition parties at the moment.
Criticising the government, he said the government of Musharraf had temporary and week basis and the people wanted to get rid of the government immediately. "The time will come when the struggle of people will succeed and the actual democracy will be restored because one cannot run the government for a long time on behalf of foreign hands," he said.
The participants of the meeting expressed great concern over the government's contacts with some opposition parties and said such news spread confusion regarding the role of opposition parties among the masses.
