The International Labour Organisation (ILO) has called for making efforts to create decent jobs for the survivors of October 8 earthquake on a quick basis to generate income, and give back the disadvantaged and affected families their dignity.
"Despite achievements by different agencies in addressing different needs arising from the earthquake, in such extreme circumstances, it is vital to note that the employment dimension must be given due coverage and attention on national policy makers and donors" level.
Efforts will be made to create decent jobs on a quick basis to generate income, and give back the disadvantaged and affected families their dignity. ILO and its constituents will continue to address the above through programmes that promote productive jobs and basic social protection to the vulnerable segments of the society, says ILO in a release on Monday.
