imageFellow West Indian hard hitting all-rounder Andre Russell, was banned from using his outrageous black painted bat in the KFC Big Bash League, after it was found to have discolored the white ball.

"The Match Officials provided feedback to Cricket Australia that the bat used by Andre left black marks on the match ball," said Head of the Big Bash Anthony Everard, reported cricket.com.au.

The Sydney Thunder all-rounder wielded an outrageous black bat in the last night match against Sydney Sixers, Cricket Australia (CA) has banned the use of coloured bats that cause discoloration to the ball.

"As a result, we have decided to withdraw our approval for Andre to use the bat that was used last night as the colour solution used by the manufacturer was discolouring the ball, Everard added.

However, Everard informed that if Andre or any other player uses a bat that doesnt result in the discolouration of the white Kookaburra ball, they will be allowed to do so.

"Should Andre, or any other BBL or WBBL player for that matter, wish to use a bat with a different colouring solution to the one used last night that doesnt result in the discolouration of the match ball, they will be permitted to do so subject to Cricket Australia being satisfied that the bat wont compromise the integrity of the game, which we believe discolouring the match ball does,"
