National Assembly body takes notice of KESC official's absence

A meeting of the sub-committee of Standing Committee on Local Government and Rural Development was held here on Wednesday at Parliament House here under the chairmanship of National Assembly member Iqbal Mohammad Ali Khan.
MNAs Bakhtiar Muani and Khurram Munawar Munj also attended the meeting. As per a press release issued here, the meeting was convened to discuss the unscheduled load shedding and long breakdowns of electricity at Karachi, but no KESC official attended the meeting.
Convenor of the sub-committee strongly criticised the absence of KESC officials and decided to cancel the meeting in protest. The committee decided to convene the next meeting at Karachi on October 17 at Karachi.
