Joint opposition on Thursday filed four adjournment motions, two of which seeking discussion in the Senate on recent blast at Ayub Park and recovery of two rockets from in front of the Parliament House.
Referring to the bomb blast and recovery of rockets, highlighted through two separate motions, Alliance for Restoration of Democracy and the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal sought debate in the House, expressing concern over the situation of law and order across the country, said the ARD Parliamentary Secretary, Izhar Amrohvi.
The third motion was pertaining to the reported statement by the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation commanders based in Afghanistan asking their respective countries to get tough with Pakistan. "This is highly objectionable statement the issue should be taken up for debate," it noted.
Opposition Leader in the Senate Mian Raza Rabbani, M Enver Baig, Sadia Abbasi, Professor Khurshid Ahmed, Dr Safdar Abbasi and Dr Babar Awan signed the motions.
The fourth motion is about the Oxfam allegations during a news conference few days back that corrupt officials were fleecing the earthquake victims.
Bedsides, Senator Sardar Mehtab Ahmed, Raza Rabbani, Professor Khurshid Ahmed, Dr Babar Awan, M Enver Baig, Dr Safdar Abasi and Sadia Abbasi inked the motion.
