Ukraine cut its raw sunoil output by about 50 percent to 57,100 tonnes in September, the last month of the 2005/06 season, from 115,000 in August, the State Statistics Committee said on Monday.
It said Ukraine had produced 1.378 million tonnes of sunoil in Junuary-September 2006, or 68.4 percent more than in the same period in 2005. Ukraine harvested 4.7 million tonnes of sunseed in 2005 compared with 3.05 million in 2004. Analysts said Ukraine might produce about 1.9 million tonnes of sunoil in 2005/06.
Analysts have said the country is likely to increase sunoil exports to up to 1.4 million tonnes in 2005/06 from about 642,000 tonnes in 2004/05. Ukraine plans to harvest about 4.5 million tonnes of sunseed in 2006.
