A Chinese delegation visited Pakistan State Oil (PSO) House and held discussions with the top management of the company. Director Refining, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources, Muhammad Azam, and officials of the Chinese consulate accompanied the team.
In a statement issued here on Tuesday said that the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Jalees Ahmed Siddiqi, welcomed the foreign delegation and briefed them about the working of PSO and its future plans.
He said the company is using technology to its advantage by seeking to reinforce technology-driven initiatives and also working for diversification in fuel and non-fuel business. Jalees highlighted the performance of the company in recent years and said, in the first quarter of this financial year, PSO has further improved its market share in key products.
The Chinese team leader, Yang Hansheng, said that China would like to set up a refinery in Pakistan. He showed keen interest in PSO, in particular, the working of supply and operations.
Later, the team visited various PSO departments including the control room of the state-of-the-art monitoring and tracking system. The team members highly appreciated the transformation of PSO into a modern, customer-focused oil marketing company.-PR
