The Senior Minister reiterated pledge of MMA government that financial discipline would be maintained at all costs, while the past traditions of spoiling public money and foreign loans on corruption and non development expenditures would not be revived.
Similarly, he said it was manifesto of the present MMA government to ensure welfare and ameliorate lot of the poor and deprived segments of society, provide them maximum relief and ensure their welfare rather than further pleasing the specific privileged class as was rampant in the past regimes.
He said provincial government was specially focusing on improving the plight of women folk in remote backward areas of the province where they had to fetch water from distant hilly areas and do other hard works.
However, he said it was only possible when overall condition of the backward areas was changed and lot of its poor population was improved with out any discrimination. He said the government was honestly endeavouring for this purpose and its revolutionary measures till then were proof of it.
The Senior Minister said that payment of hydel net profit and its outstanding arrears to NWFP by Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) would prove milestone in economic stability of the province and the provincial government would then be able to ensure timely return of loans to the donor agencies.
