Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK) President Raja Zulqarnain has said bright potential is available for the promotion of the tourism industry in AJK and the government was initiating various affective steps for the development of tourism with the co-ordination of the private sector.
He was speaking as the chief guest at the Mangla View Resorts, a project of tourist resorts - being constructed at the periphery of Mangla lake, a joint venture of two Pakistani and Malaysian construction companies, on Monday.
Representatives of Mangla View Resorts Ltd and the Malaysian firm - Max Corporation including Deputy Chief Executive Officer, NG Boon Hwee, Manager Public Relations, Lieutenant Colonel Changez Wali Khan (Retd) and Senior Manager Marketing, Tariq Zaman apprised the President of the salient features of the mega project.
Advisor to the AJK President Dr Z.U.Khan, senior officials of Mirpur division was also present on the occasion. The AJK President continued that the natural beauty and huge available resources in AJK could be utilised for the speedy progress of the tourism sector. He said that the government would extend every possible assistance and support to the private sector for the promotion of tourism in the area.
Zulqarnain invited the national and multi-national private sector to launch similar projects of tourist resorts in various tourism-oriented picturesque spots in AJK and added that the government would extend every possible support and assistance to flourish their projects.
Appreciating the project, the President said that the project of the latest architectural design, along the periphery of beautiful and largest Mangla dam lake, would indeed, be helpful to promote the tourism industry in the area. He pointed out that the grooming of valuable variety of Mahasheir fish in Jhelum and Poonch rivers falling in the Mangla lake could be the sign of exceptional interest for the hunters for fishing in this most beautiful lake.
He hoped that Mangla View Resort would prove to be a landmark in the history of tourism in this area. "We can offer you variety of the sites for the similar tourist resorts in various lush green scenic terrain of AJK", the President said.
The AJK President appreciated this Malaysia-Pakistan joint venture of significant importance and hoped it would provide latest residential facilities to the dwellers including those who would use to stay here to enjoy holidays in all seasons.
"We are very happy and satisfied of your grand project, which would indeed attract the Kashmir-origin British new generation hailing from Mirpur for enjoying a quality residential resorts in the area", the President said.
