City District Nazim, Rana Zahid Tauseef has asked the Solid Waste Management district officer to improve the city's cleanliness and sanitary conditions within 15 days.
Presiding over a meeting here on Monday to review the Solid Waste Management position in Faisalabad, he said that he was interested in results only and wanted to see Faisalabad a litter-free city.
He has warned that in case of negligence in implementation of order, he along with his three deputy district officers would be sent out of Faisalabad replacing them with efficient officers capable of delivering services honestly.
The government had provided funds for solid waste management, now it was for them to perform their duties with devotion to improve the sorry state of affairs to avoid action against them, he added.
Later, the nazim held a meeting with D O Roads, NLC and Nespak officers to review the progress of ongoing construction and repair work on different city roads and directed them to complete the in hand works expeditiously.
He asked the officers to issue work order for all works where the tenders process had been completed. He directed the officials to carry out a joint survey of road from Railway Station to Babar Cinema inter-section and forward proposals for regulating the traffic flow by removing retardant so that this road could be used as an alternate route for reducing the traffic load on the Circular road.
Rana Tauseef directed that notice of violation of building by-laws by an under construction multi-story building near the Radio Station might be taken against the violation. D O Housing informed that the permission granted for construction had been withdrawn in view of the violation carried out and necessary action in the matter was under process.
