The Governing Body of Lahore Development Authority (LDA), while taking serious notice of the peoples sufferings due to incomplete housing schemes for the last many years has decided to constitute a committee headed by DCO Lahore Muhammad Ijaz, which would examine every scheme with regard to provision of basic amenities.
District Nazim, Mian Amer Mahmood, who is also LDA Chairman, chaired the meeting, here on Tuesday. Town Nazims Chaudhry Muhammad Ashraf, Tariq Sana Bajwa, Shafqatun Nisa, Sh. Muhammad Younas, Mian Javed Ali and Khalid Javed Ghurki and Managing Directors of Water and Sewerage Authority (Wasa), TEPA and representatives of Housing, Planning, Finance and Local Government Departments attended the meeting.
The meeting gave its approval for setting up of two housing schemes over an area of 25,000 Kanals on Raiwind Road and 50,000 Kanals on Ferozepur Road for which overseas Pakistani and resident citizens would be eligible to apply for the allotment of plots.
The housing scheme on Raiwind Road would be set up on east of the road, which would touch Kahana Nuo Road on north, Kot Jamalpur Road on south, and railway line on east and Raiwind Road on the west. The other scheme on Ferozepur Road would touch Huddyara drain on north, Ferozepur Road on east, railway line on west and Soai Asal Road on south.
The meeting also resolved to provide exemption of 30 percent of the land acquired from the land owners and half of the development charges would be received from them, while remaining half of the development charges would be adjusted against the land price.
Both the schemes would have plots measuring 3, 5, 7, 10, 15 and 20 Marlas, while provision for educational, recreational and business facilities would also be ensured in the schemes. The plots, according to the decision of the meeting, would be allotted through draw. The meeting also accorded approval for carrying out topographic survey and taking pictures of the proposed schemes through satellite.
The meeting also approved provision of 4-kanal land for Punjab Public Service Commission in Johar Town, while the construction of road between Neelam Block Allama Iqbal Town and Wahdat road, which would cost Rs 48 million, was also approved. It also approved project for uplift of road in front of commercial area of Karim Block in Allama Iqbal Town.
The meeting also sanctioned Rs 30 million for construction of 7 roads in Quaid-e-Azam Town and Rs 38.4 million for construction of LDA offices in Johar Town over an area of 10 Kanals.
