None of the Mangla dam affectees has been served notice to vacate the homes and land, and the process of evacuation would not be started until the development project for the affectees was finalised, said a spokesman of the Mangla dam upraising project.
Clarifying the impression that Mangla dam affectees had been issued evacuation notices and that the compensation process was under jeopardy, the spokesman said that no such notices had been issued and the process of evacuation would not start until the development package was finalised.
He said that residential plots for the affectees of new City and Small Town are being prepared and the affectees would be given residential plots along with compensation money for houses and would be given a timeframe of one year for construction of houses.
The spokesman said that certain elements, in order to complete their nefarious designs, were making unnecessary propaganda against Mangla dam and using negative tactics to blackmail the Mangla dam upraising project department. He added: "However, we are fully prepared to meet any such propaganda and are taking all possible measures for the rehabilitation of the affectees."
