US cocoa prices ended mixed Tuesday, with news of an indefinite end to farm strikes in Ivory Coast setting back the benchmark contract in New York a little in an otherwise firm market. Volume transacted on the New York Board of Trade rose up to an estimated 24,424 lots from Monday's official tally of 17,852 contracts.
NYBOT December cocoa closed off $2 at $1,484 per tonne, near the lower end of a $1,495 to $1,476 range. The benchmark contract had jumped $16 on Monday. March cocoa settled flat at $1,518, with the rest up $2 to $3.
