Minister for Commerce Humayun Akhtar Khan said on Thursday that Pakistan is keen in trade with Vietnam. He was talking to the Vice Minister of Trade of Vietnam Donhudinh who called on the Minister here. Secretary Commerce Syed Asif Shah was also present.
The Vice Minister of Vietnam was told that Pakistan is keen in trade ties with Vietnam. The trade relations between the two countries are developing fast, Hummayun remarked. He added that in 2001 President Pervez Musharraf visited Vietnam where many trade documents were signed.
The Vietnam Trade Minister thanked the government of Pakistan for co-operating them in becoming non-permanent member of Security Council. He also invited the Federal Minister to visit Vietnam, which was accepted. Khan expressed that Pakistan looking for market access in the East and Vietnam is also important for us.
"We need to conduct a study to find complementaries in the economies and trade to enable both the governments to foster the bilateral, trade relations", he said. The Vice Minister highly appreciated this suggestion. The Vice Minister thanked him for extending warm welcome.
Earlier this morning the Vice Minister Donhudinh along with his trade delegation from Vietnam met with Secretary Commerce, Syed Asif Ali Shah. Both the sides discussed various ways to enhanced bilateral trade between them.
