A large number of journalists of Mirpurkhas National Press Club and Union of Journalists on Thursday held a protest demonstration outside Mirpurkhas Press Club against killing of Malik Muhammad Ismail, Bureau Chief of PPI Islamabad.
President Mirpurkhas Union of Journalists Afaq Ahmed led the demonstration. The protesting journalists wore black armbands and chanted slogans. Speaking on the occasion Afaq Ahmed and others condemned murder of Malik Ismail and criticised authorities for their failure to protect journalists.
They demanded an immediate arrest of the killers and asked to stop violence against journalists. A meeting of the journalists was also held, in which they severally condemned the murder of Muhammad Ismail in a brutal way. Later, they offered Fateha for the slain journalist.
