The lawyers community on Saturday boycotted the proceedings of the courts in Punjab to protest the killings of over 80 people in Bajour Agency last week. The Bar called for judicial inquiry into the incident and asked the Chief Justice of Pakistan to take suo motu action against the incident.
The Lahore Bar along with other bar members took out a procession from the bar premises to Regal Chowk, Mall Road.
They also passed resolutions against the government action of killing innocent people and condemned the incident. They also offered Fateha for the departed souls. The lawyers also hoisted black flags at their buildings and wore black strips to mourn the tragic incident. The Punjab Bar Council had given call for the strike to express solidarity with the people of Bajour Agency.
