Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz on Saturday said the officers of the Civil Service are a major asset to the country and have a critical role in ensuring good governance and transparency while serving the people.
He was talking to Ejaz Rahim, who paid a farewell call on him at PM House after his retirement as cabinet secretary. The prime minister appreciated the contribution made by Rahim as a civil servant throughout his long career in various important positions, including the Cabinet secretary.
Shaukat Aziz said the government has introduced several reforms in the civil service and more are in the pipeline so the government servants get the respect, facilities, and adequate compensation to enable them perform at the optimum level. Ejaz Rahim thanked the prime minister for his continuous support.
