Containers are still seen plying in the city without proper locking mechanism to prevent slipping and falling off containers from trailers despite ban imposed on the movement of containers without proper locking mechanism.
Karachi Port Trust and Sindh government have imposed restriction on movement of containers in the city from the harbour without proper locking system.
The Advisor, Home Affairs, Sindh has directed DIG Traffic Police to impose heavy fine and impound licence of container driver in case of violating the instruction. The advisor also directed the DIG Tariff to start road checking of containers from November 1, 2006.
