The rising prices of the raw material and recent 125 percent increase in copper wires' prices and 40 percent increase in the silver prices have put the fans manufacturing industry in severe financial crisis.
Fan Industry Gujranwala region's spokesman Haji Muhammad Latif told the newsmen at Daska, here, that the said rising prices have also affected the fan industry, besides, enhancing the fans' production costs, as the hike in the fans' prices has also badly affected the purchasing power of the people.
He feared that if the above mentioned rising prices of raw material, copper wires and silver were not brought down immediately by the government, the hundreds of the fans manufacturing industrial units would be closed, making thousands of the workers engaged with this industry as job less. He urged the government to announce a special package of incentives for the fan industry on priority basis.
