Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz has tasked a committee to settle down Eid moon controversy to ensure uniform Eid festival in the country, said Vakil Ahmed Khan, Secretary Federal Religious Affairs Ministry. Talking to journalists at Hajj Directorate here on Sunday, he said the committee headed by Federal Religious Affairs Minister Ejazul Haq would meet within a week.
"The committee would at first sort out the causes of the contention and present its recommendations hopefully within 45 days before Eidul Azha, he maintained.
The committee included Religious Affairs Ministers of all the four provinces and Azad Kashmir, Dr Mehmood Ghazi, Mian Naeem-ur-Rehman, Senator Abbas Kumeli, Dr Riaz Hussain Najfi, Maulana Muneeb-ur-Rehman, Professor Ghulam Sarwar Qadri, three MNAs- Bukhtiar Moani, Fiaz-ur-Rehman Alvi and Maulana Gul Naseeb, Suparco Chairman and Director General of Meteorological Depart-ment.
