The University of Sindh (SU) has established "Quality Enhancement Cell" (QEC) and appointed a senior faculty as its advisor to start the working of QEC. In this connection, a meeting of Deans of all Faculties of the University was convened on Monday for setting up of criteria of work and its functions.
SU Vice Chancellor Mazharul Haq Siddiqui, while presiding over the meeting, highlighted importance of the QEC for improvement as well as quality assurance in higher education.
Underlining aims and objectives of establishment of QEC, the VC said it was very important aspect for bringing in improvement of higher education in the university, adding the QEC would be guiding, monitoring and improving point in the area of higher education.
The VC, while underlining important of speedy progress on the part of Deans of the Faculties, said that action was paramount important in achievement of purpose of QEC. The VC while for achievements of expected results, stressed that among University employees every one should own University and its purposes towards betterment of quality of education and academic environment.
The Deans of the Faculties also shared their ideas towards achievements of objectives in establishment of QEC. The meeting on this occasion appointed a senior faculty member from Institute of Chemistry Professor Dr M. Suleman Sheikh as Advisor of the QEC.
