Sialkot District Nazim Muhammad Akmal Cheema said the district government was spending more than Rs 1.22 billion on the implementation of 85 different road schemes. Talking to Business Recorder here on Tuesday, he said the construction on these roads was on different stages and efforts were being made to complete the projects within stipulated period.
He said the steps had been taken for improving the means of communication and linking the far-off areas with their respective tehsil headquarters in the district. Cheema revealed that Sialkot-Head Marala road was being converted into dual carriage at a cost of Rs 350 million and development work on the project would be undertaken soon.
Apart from this, under citizen community board (CCB) several development projects pertaining to peoples' welfare had already been initiated in Sialkot, Daska, Pasrur and Sambrial tehsils, he added.
