Pakistan and United States strategic partnership is not solely dependent on war against terrorism but are multidimensional, Foreign Minister Khurshid Mahmood Kasuri said here on Tuesday.
Talking to newsmen about his discussions with the visiting US Under Secretary for South and Central Asia Richard Boucher, he said "we reviewed progress in strengthening bilateral ties and co-operation in various fields as well as regional issues of common interest under the framework of the Pak-US strategic dialogue.
He said "due to this institutional framework, the bilateral relationship was deepening and broadening in diverse fields of education, energy, science, technology and defence".
He said that initiatives such as Fata development plan, challenges of terrorism and extremism, situation in Afghanistan and, Pakistan-India peace process and regional and international issues came under discussion. Kasuri said that the two sides agreed that steady progress was being made in the implementation of the Joint Statement of March 4, 2006.
