Adviser to Sindh Chief Minister and Chairman, Karachi Fisheries Harbour Authority (KFHA), Fakir Muhammad Jaddam Mangrio has asked the concerned officials to remove all impediments and renovation of K-2 Auction Hall be speed up. He said the government would provide funds for that.
While visiting the harbour on Tuesday, he showed his displeasure over delay in completion of renovation work and said that delay in making operational of K-2 Auction Hall would affect the exports of fish products to the European Union (EU) and other countries.
The KFHA Chairman also visited the jetty and K-1 Auction Hall to assess the hygienic conditions there. He expressed his satisfaction and directed KFHA Managing Director, Dr M Nawaz Baloch to display prominently instructions for stakeholders so that the K-1 Auction Hall could be made functional in accordance with the standard operating procedure (SOP) prepared by the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (Unido).
He also said that cleanliness of the harbour was on the priority as the EU had already placed recommendations, which the authority has to implement at any cost.
