imageKARACHI: Traffic police have issued a plan for Karachi after Section 144 imposed in the port city on the eve of New Year.

According to latest reports, section-144 has been imposed in the metropolis whereas swimming at the sea side has also been banned due to security concerns. The roads heading to sea view have also been blocked by placing containers.

Traffic from Akhtar Colony and Korangi will be diverted to Shahrah-e-Faisal.

The road leading to US Consulate from the KPT Bridge will be closed at 9:00; whereas, the road from Boat Basin to Bilawal Chowrangi will also remain close. Heavy vehicles coming from Korangi Industrial Area will be diverted to National Highway.

SSP South Saqib Ismail told that steps would be taken to maintain law and order. He also warned those who misbehave with families and told that they would be given severe punishments.

Reportedly, The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh has directed that foolproof security arrangements be made in the province ahead of New Year night.
