Afghan President Hamid Karzai has formed a joint Jirga consisting of the tribes living near the Pakistan-Afghan border on the either side and President Pervez Musharraf is likely to visit Afghanistan for this purpose in December, reports Voice of America (VoA).
According to the VoA, Hamid Karzai agreed on the joint Jirga across the border after meeting with President Musharraf and US president George Bush in Washington in September.
President Karzai and President Musharraf are expected to attend the Jirga, date of which has not yet been decided, but Pakistani Foreign Office said that President Musharraf might visit Afghanistan in December.
Talking to journalists in Kabul, Karzai said that struggle for the formation of Jirga was going on and the purpose of the Jirga was to stop attacks in Afghanistan. He said that Jirga would be useless without real presentation of the people from both sides.
