KARACHI: Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has felicitated newly-appointed Secretary General of the United Nations Antonio Guterres and welcomed his appeal for New Year resolution "to put peace first".
A Bilawal House Media Cell statement issued here on Sunday said that Antonio Guterres had made the appeal after taking over the reins of the UN from Ban Ki-moon, whose second five-year term ended at midnight on December 31.
PPP Chairman hoped that the new UN chief will take efforts for elimination of terrorism from around the globe and also pay attention to many long-pending international issues including the demand of right to self-determination of Kashmiris as per the resolutions passed by the United Nations itself, it added.
